"I was always hesitant to talk about the 'crazy' thoughts rolling through my head about my body and food, until I met Wendy. Wendy gets it!" - Lindsay B.

Body Image and Wellness Coaching

Love Your Body 101

This work addresses two areas:

  1. Self-Care
  2. Body Acceptance

As you learn to love your physical being by adopting practices that shift your perspective, you also get to choose to commit to your unique version of self-care. I have had a long history of not being good enough and blaming my imperfect body for my sadness and disconnection. The truth is that I couldn’t really love myself until I learned to love the body that I have. I struggled with an eating disorder for many years, and tortured my body with unhealthy practices. Through awareness of my thoughts and behaviors and by practicing specific exercises to shift those thoughts and feelings, I stepped into embracing and loving the body that I have, with all of its lumps, bumps, age lines and imperfections. For 15 years I had a wellness business, supporting others in choosing health as a priority. How committed are you to caring for your physical being?

Self-Care
Do you:

  • move your body?
  • eat well 80% of the time?
  • sleep enough?
  • manage stress?
  • drink water?
  • feel comfortable about your sexuality?
  • accept that aging happens?

I will support you in identifying and choosing where you are stuck and
provide specific tools to move you forward on the path to body love.

Body Acceptance
Do you:

  • compare your body to others?
  • use your body as an excuse for where you go, what you do and how
    your feel?
  • take the brunt of your frustration out on your body?
  • stuff your feelings with food?
  • hold onto excess weight in order to protect yourself?
  • feel helpless to change the way you feel about your body and/or
    about how your body works?
  • ignore others’ compliments about you?
  • discount yourself for each small step that you take?

Love Your Body 101 is my specialty area. I used to answer “yes” to all of these questions about body awareness. No more. I have had a history of seeing my body as the enemy, the brunt of all of my self-loathing and ridicule. My life has brought me to this place of supporting others in healing their body images. I get it. I get the pain. I get the challenge. And, I know the freedom that comes from body acceptance and love.

Befriend your body as you befriend your heart and your soul. As your body image coach, I will help you to clarify your destructive belief system about your body. I will assign specific exercises and practices to support you in shifting those negative perspectives, guide you in creating a plan for health and hold you accountable for your commitments with compassion and understanding.
